Apex Kernel
The schedule-driven Expert Advisor. Seven markets, each traded only inside its own favorable window in your local timezone, with a broker-side stop loss on every position.
Built for discipline, not noise
In a market flooded with over-optimized single-pair scalpers, Apex Kernel stands out with a disciplined, schedule-driven approach. Each market trades only during statistically favorable windows in your local timezone, fully adjustable, which reduces exposure to low-liquidity periods and news traps.
Schedule-driven
Every market has its own entry and exit window. Outside it, the EA does nothing: no chasing, no overtrading, and no sitting exposed through the quiet hours.
Seven markets, one engine
Indices and forex run side by side, each with its own schedule, spread limit and risk allocation, so no single chart carries the result.
Risk before return
A broker-side stop on every position, one trade per market per window, and no martingale, grid or averaging. It is built to stay inside its limits, not to win them back.
From schedule to scheduled exit
This is how Apex Kernel behaves on every market, every week. We describe the logic and publish every result it produced. The exact windows, thresholds and entry rules stay inside the EA.
A window opens
Each market has its own window, set in your local timezone. Nothing happens outside it, and a second trade is never opened in the same window.
Daily context is read
A timezone-adjusted D1 analysis sets the day's context, aligned to your clock instead of your broker's server time.
Filters decide
Per-market spread protection and market-context filters must pass. If conditions are not right, the EA simply skips the trade.
Size and protect
Lot size comes from real tick value and tick size. A broker-side stop loss goes on with the order, and forex positions also carry a fixed take-profit.
Exit on schedule
Positions close at their scheduled exit window, or earlier at the stop or target. Nothing is left open on hope.
Why we keep the recipe private. Published settings get crowded. We show how the system behaves and every number it produced, but not the exact windows or entry rules. Those stay inside the EA, which is what keeps them useful to the people running it.
Explore the backtest yourself
Every trade from the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester run is loaded below. Switch markets on and off, scale the risk, and watch the equity curve, drawdown and statistics recompute from the real trade list.
1× is the sizing used in the test. The risk scale multiplies every trade's size linearly, so anything other than 1× is a simulation that cannot model margin, spread changes or stop-outs. Per-trade figures follow the MT5 report convention: commissions are counted as a separate cost, so best and worst trade are shown before commission. Drawdown here is measured on closed trades; the MT5 equity drawdown above also includes open-trade swings and is slightly larger.
Year by year
Return as a percentage of the $100,000 test balance. Updates with the market selection and risk scale above.
How trades ended
The stop loss is the safety net, not the exit plan. Most positions close on schedule.
Three positions were still open when the test ended. Take-profits apply to the forex markets; index positions exit on schedule.
Hypothetical performance. Backtested results have inherent limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading, and because the trades were not actually executed, results may under- or over-compensate for market factors such as liquidity, spread and slippage. No representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve results similar to those shown.
Seven markets, shown one by one
Nothing is netted away. Here is how each market performed on its own over the same test, including the ones that contributed little.
| Market | Type | Trades | Win rate | Profit factor | Share of net profit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| US100 | Index | 348 | 55.7% | 1.70 | 38.8% |
| GBPJPY | GBP cross | 292 | 61.0% | 1.93 | 31.8% |
| JP225 | Index | 347 | 60.2% | 1.76 | 16.1% |
| GBPCHF | GBP cross | 347 | 60.8% | 1.50 | 8.8% |
| USDJPY | JPY major | 42 | 66.7% | 2.17 | 2.5% |
| NZDUSD | NZD major | 310 | 55.5% | 1.35 | 1.1% |
| GBPUSD | GBP major | 322 | 59.3% | 1.40 | 0.9% |
Profit factor counts commissions as a cost, the same way the MT5 report does. Dollar contribution differs by market because each carries its own risk allocation: the largest single loss on GBPUSD and NZDUSD was about −$200, against −$567 to −$2,008 on the other five. Together, GBPUSD and NZDUSD add about 2% of the net profit and do not raise the maximum drawdown.

Scheduled exits
Positions close automatically at their exit window, with one trade per market per window.

Live results are on the way
A verified live account is being set up
We have not published a live track record for Apex Kernel yet. When the MyFXbook-verified account is running, it will be linked here and on the Strategy Ledger. Until then, the backtest above is the only performance evidence, and it is hypothetical. We would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
Who Apex Kernel suits, and who it doesn't
A good fit if you…
- Want a rules-based EA that trades a handful of times a week, not all day
- Prefer spreading risk across indices and forex over leaning on one pair
- Value a hard stop on every trade and no martingale, grid or averaging
- Trade prop-style accounts and will check your firm's weekend and swap rules
Probably not for you if you…
- Want high-frequency scalping with dozens of trades a day
- Expect every week or month to finish green (the worst backtest month was −6.2%)
- Plan to run it on a very small account with oversized lots
- Won't test on a demo account with your own broker first
The risk picture, in one place
What to expect
- The backtest is hypothetical. It includes commissions and swaps, but real fills, spreads and slippage will differ by broker. There is no live record yet.
- Drawdowns happen. In the test the worst equity dip was 5.86%, the worst month was −6.2% (March 2023), and up to 8 trades in a row finished at a loss.
- Some trades cross a weekend. About 3 in 10 backtest trades were held from Friday into Monday. Weekend gaps can move price past a stop, and some prop firms prohibit weekend holding.
- Wednesday overnight holds can attract swaps. Depending on your broker, these can be heavy. See the FAQ for a swap-free option.
- Execution matters. Wide spreads or slow fills on indices and forex can change results. Use a low-spread broker and a VPS.
- No guarantees. Trading leveraged CFDs and forex carries substantial risk, and past results do not guarantee future performance.
Getting it running
- Install and activatePlace Apex Kernel in your MT5 Experts folder, attach it to a chart and enter your license key. Activation is bound to your device.
- Set your timezoneUse the TimezoneOffset input so the schedule matches your local time. You never have to translate windows into broker server time.
- Match your broker's symbolsIf your broker adds a suffix or prefix to symbol names, enter the exact names in the symbol inputs, and make sure every symbol the EA uses is visible in Market Watch.
- Choose your risk modeConstant lot, percent risk or a fixed dollar amount per trade. If you are unsure, percent risk scales to your account automatically.
- Set the filling modePick the order filling policy your broker supports. A wrong setting is a common reason an EA fails to open or close orders.
- Run it on a VPS and check in weeklyIt acts in scheduled windows, so a stable connection at those times matters. Review results weekly rather than watching it daily.
Before you buy
Does Apex Kernel work on all brokers?
Yes, it works on all brokers. One thing to know: it holds some trades overnight on Wednesdays, which can incur heavy swaps depending on your broker. If swaps matter to you, consider opening an account with InstaForex (our referral link), where you are not charged swaps.
What is the minimum balance required?
It can technically run on smaller accounts using constant lot, but we recommend $1,000 to $2,000 or more for optimal use of percent risk and to accommodate all markets comfortably.
Does it use martingale or grid strategies?
No martingale, no grid and no averaging. Every position carries a broker-side stop loss. Forex positions also have a fixed take-profit, and index positions exit at their scheduled window. It is designed for steady, controlled risk, not for winning losses back.
Can I use it on prop firm accounts?
It is built with prop-style rules in mind: a stop on every trade, no martingale or grid, limited trade frequency and a low-drawdown profile in testing. Note that about 3 in 10 backtest trades were held across a weekend, and some firms restrict that. Always check your firm's specific rules.
How many trades does it take per week?
Low to moderate frequency. In the backtest that averaged about one trade per market per week, or roughly 5 to 6 trades a week across the whole portfolio. A couple of markets, such as USDJPY, trade far less often.
Which markets does it trade?
The backtest covers US100, JP225, GBPJPY, GBPCHF, GBPUSD, NZDUSD and USDJPY. Each has its own schedule, spread limit and risk allocation.
Does it work with different brokers and timezones?
Yes. The built-in TimezoneOffset input aligns the schedule with your timezone, so you do not have to convert windows into broker server time. It works on ECN, FIFO and most broker types.
Is there a live track record?
Not yet. A MyFXbook-verified live account is being set up and will be linked on this page when it is running. Until then, the backtest above is hypothetical and should be treated that way.
What does the backtest include?
A MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester run from January 2020 to October 2026 on M1 data with 99% history quality, a $100,000 deposit and 1:100 leverage. Commissions and swaps are included, and sizing is fixed-dollar, so gains are not boosted by compounding.
Is the dashboard customizable?
It uses a clean cyberpunk theme by default. Advanced users can modify colors and layout in the code.
Do you provide support and updates?
Yes. Lifetime support through your platform and free updates for licensed users.
Seven markets. One schedule. A stop on every trade.
