Gold Fury MT5
The gold-only Expert Advisor with one trade a day, a fixed stop loss and take-profit on every position, and no martingale, grid or averaging.
Discipline, measured
Every number below is measured from the 1,205 trades in the backtest, not promised in a brochure.
Stop and target
of all 1,205 entries went in with both a stop loss and a take-profit attached.
Trade per day
One trade a day, Monday to Friday. It never opened more than one in 4.8 years of testing.
Martingale, grid or averaging
A loss never increases the next trade's size, and the EA never averages in or builds a grid.
Reached the stop
Only 96 of 1,205 trades ended at the stop, and the typical stop cost about 0.4% of the test balance.
Gold deserves an algorithm of its own
Trading gold takes more than standard indicators. It takes an algorithm that understands gold's liquidity cycles and its price-action volatility. Unlike generic all-in-one EAs, Gold Fury is a specialist: a focused logic stack of spread filtering, time-window execution and dynamic risk-to-reward scaling, built to capture the intraday moves of the precious metals market.
Time-window execution
Gold's liquidity changes through the day. Gold Fury acts only inside its own window, which helps keep it out of thin rollover hours and away from news traps.
Spread and slippage protection
A Max Spread filter blocks execution when gold's spread blows out during high-volatility news or illiquid rollover periods.
Volatility-scaled risk
Stops and targets are tailored to gold's Average True Range, and position size is calculated from the stop distance, so the cost of a stop stays controlled as volatility changes.
One trade, from window to exit
This is how a Gold Fury trade unfolds. We describe the logic and publish every result it produced. The exact window, thresholds and entry rules stay inside the EA.
The window opens
Gold Fury is only active inside its daily window. Outside it, the EA does nothing, and it opens one trade per day.
Conditions are checked
The Max Spread filter and the clock settings must pass. If gold's spread is too wide, the trade is skipped.
The entry engine decides
A proprietary mix of momentum filtering and volatility exhaustion looks for high-probability exhaustion points, long or short.
Size and protect
A fixed stop loss and take-profit, tailored to gold's ATR, go on with the order. Lot size is calculated from the stop distance.
Managed to the exit
The EA's ATR-based exit logic manages the position until it is closed, or until the stop or take-profit that went on with the order is reached.
Why we keep the recipe private. Published settings get crowded. We show how the system behaves and every number it produced, but not the exact window or entry rules. Those stay inside the EA, which is what keeps them useful to the people running it.
Explore the backtest yourself
Every trade from the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester run is loaded below. Filter by direction, pick an account size, change the risk, and watch the equity curve, drawdown, monthly returns and statistics recompute from the real trade list.
The test used a $100,000 balance at the tested risk (1×). Choosing another account size keeps the same relative risk, so percentages stay the same and dollar amounts scale; the risk slider changes the percentages. Anything other than $100k at 1× is a simulation that ignores minimum lot size, margin and broker limits. Per-trade figures follow the MT5 report convention: commissions are a separate cost, so best and worst trade are shown before commission. Drawdown here is measured on closed trades; the MT5 equity drawdown above also includes open-trade swings and is slightly larger.
Year by year
Return as a percentage of the account. Updates with the controls above.
Month by month
Every month of the test. Green months made money, red months lost it; deeper color means a larger move.
How trades end
The stop is the safety net, not the exit plan. Most positions are closed by the EA's own exit logic before the stop or target is reached.
average result across 1,062 trades. 58% of them finished in profit.
average result across 47 trades, 3.9% of the total. All 47 were profitable.
average result across 96 trades, 8.0% of the total. The typical stop cost about −$397.
Averages are after commission.
Hypothetical performance. Backtested results have inherent limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading, and because the trades were not actually executed, results may under- or over-compensate for market factors such as liquidity, spread and slippage. No representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve results similar to those shown.
Everything it needs to run without intervention
Precision entry engine
A proprietary combination of momentum filtering and volatility exhaustion, built to enter at high-probability exhaustion points.
Time-window execution
Trades only inside gold's favorable window, with clock and timezone settings to match your broker.
Institutional risk management
Percent risk, fixed dollar or constant lot. Position size is calculated automatically from the stop distance.
Spread and slippage protection
A Max Spread filter prevents execution during high-volatility news and illiquid rollover periods.
Intelligent trade management
Refined exit logic with stops and take-profit targets tailored to gold's Average True Range.
Visual execution dashboard
A clean on-chart panel showing license status, spread tracking and real-time trade statistics.
Neon entry and exit markers
Clearly marked entries and exits with neon-coded chart objects, so you can follow the EA's logic live.
Prop-firm friendly rules
A fixed stop and take-profit on every trade, one trade per day, and no manual intervention required.
What prop traders check first
Funded-account rules usually come down to drawdown and daily loss. Here is where Gold Fury stood on each in the backtest.
| Rule that matters | Backtest result |
|---|---|
| Maximum drawdown | 3.75% equity · 2.59% balance |
| Worst single day (one trade a day) | −1.98% of the test balance |
| Typical stop-out | about −0.4% of the test balance |
| Stop loss on every trade | 100% of entries |
| Trades per day | 1, never more |
| Longest losing streak | 8 trades |
Every firm has its own rules on daily loss and news trading. Check yours before running any EA on a challenge or funded account. Backtest figures are hypothetical, and no EA can guarantee that you will pass.
Gold Fury versus the typical gold EA
| Typical gold EA | Gold Fury | |
|---|---|---|
| Focus | All-in-one, many markets | Built for XAUUSD only |
| Risk method | Grids or martingale are common | Fixed stop and target. No martingale, grid or averaging |
| Position sizing | Often fixed or escalating lots | Calculated from the stop distance |
| Trade frequency | Varies, often many per day | One trade a day, at most |
| Spread control | Often unfiltered | Max Spread filter built in |
| Intervention | Frequent tweaking | No manual intervention needed |
Who Gold Fury suits, and who it doesn't
A good fit if you…
- Want a gold specialist instead of an all-in-one EA
- Like a steady cadence: one trade a day, with a stop and target on every position
- Trade prop-style accounts and want a stop and target on every position
- Prefer percent-risk sizing that adapts to the stop distance
Probably not for you if you…
- Want many trades a day or high-frequency scalping
- Expect every month to finish green (the worst backtest month was −2.6%)
- Expect every year to look like 2025 and 2026 (2022 and 2023 returned +6.4% and +6.9%)
- Won't test on a demo account with your own broker first
The risk picture, in one place
What to expect
- The backtest is hypothetical. It covers the EA's standard settings and includes commissions, but real fills, spreads and slippage will differ by broker, and other settings will behave differently.
- Results depend on gold's volatility. About two-thirds of the net return came in 2025 and 2026. Quieter years were far smaller: +6.4% in 2022, +6.9% in 2023 and +11.2% in 2024.
- Losses are part of the process. About 45% of trades lost money, up to 8 in a row, and the worst month was −2.6% (May 2025).
- Most stops are small, but not all. The typical stop cost about 0.4% of the test balance. Thirteen of the 96 stops cost between 1.3% and 2.0%, and the worst single trade was −$1,972.88. Gold can move fast and slip through a stop.
- Execution matters. Gold spreads widen at rollover and during news. The Max Spread filter helps, but does not remove the risk. Use a low-spread broker and a VPS.
- No guarantees. Trading leveraged CFDs and gold carries substantial risk, and past results do not guarantee future performance.
Getting it running
- Install and activatePlace the .ex5 file in your MT5 Experts folder, attach it to an XAUUSD chart (use your broker's gold symbol) and enter your license key. The backtest ran on an M1 chart, so we recommend the same.
- Choose how it sizes tradesPercent risk, a fixed dollar amount per trade, or a constant lot. If you are unsure, percent risk adapts to the stop distance automatically.
- Set your Max SpreadPick a limit that suits your broker's typical gold spread, so trades are skipped when spreads blow out.
- Align the clockUse the clock and timezone settings so the trading window matches your broker's server time.
- Set the filling modePick the order filling policy your broker supports. A wrong setting is a common reason an EA fails to open or close orders.
- Run it on a VPS and check in weeklyIt trades once a day, so a stable connection at that time matters. Review results weekly rather than watching it daily.
Before you buy
How often does Gold Fury trade?
One trade a day at most, Monday to Friday, so up to five a week. In the backtest it averaged 4.8 trades a week and never opened more than one in a day. It is not a frequent scalper.
Which symbol and timeframe does it use?
XAUUSD only. Attach it to your broker's gold symbol; the backtest ran on an M1 chart, so we recommend the same.
What is the minimum balance required?
The EA can run on accounts as small as $100, but we recommend $500 to $1,000 or more so the percent-risk feature works effectively and you keep sensible margin levels.
Does it use martingale or grid strategies?
No. Every position carries a hard stop loss and take-profit, and the EA never averages down, doubles up or builds a grid. A losing trade never increases the size of the next one.
Can I use it on a prop firm account?
It is built with prop-style rules in mind: a fixed stop and take-profit on every trade, one trade per day, no manual intervention, and a low-drawdown profile in testing. Always check your firm's specific rules, and remember that no EA can guarantee you will pass a challenge.
Is the performance on this page live or backtested?
Everything on this page comes from a hypothetical MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester backtest on XAUUSD, from January 2022 to October 2026. We label it that way throughout, because simulated results are not a live track record.
What does the backtest include?
The EA's standard settings, a $100,000 deposit at 1:100 leverage on M1 data with 98% history quality, and commissions included. Position size is fixed-dollar, so gains are not boosted by compounding. In fact, lot size fell as gold's price rose, from an average of 0.49 in 2022 to 0.24 in 2026.
What does the dashboard show?
A clean on-chart panel with your license status, spread tracking and real-time trade statistics, plus neon-coded markers for every entry and exit.
How do I receive it, and what about updates?
You get the ready-to-use .ex5 file as an instant download after checkout. It is a one-time purchase with lifetime updates.
One trade a day. A stop and target on every one.

Risk disclosure
Trading foreign exchange, gold (XAUUSD), CFDs and other leveraged products carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. You may lose some or all of your investment. All performance figures on this page come from a hypothetical backtest. CFTC Rule 4.41: hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not actually been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Nothing here is investment advice or a solicitation. You are solely responsible for your trading decisions and for complying with the rules of any broker or prop firm you use.

Marcus Thorne –
Gold Fury is surprisingly stable. I’ve been running it on the default 15min settings for two weeks and the equity curve is very smooth. Most Gold bots are just disguised Martingales that blow up during news, but this one actually uses tight stop-losses. It caught the reversal after the Fed announcement perfectly. Great job on the code optimization; it doesn’t lag my VPS at all.
Elena Rodriguez –
Finally, an EA that understands Gold’s volatility. The entry logic seems to be based on a solid algorithm rather than just basic indicators. I’m currently up 8% on my $50k funded account. The drawdown stayed under 3%, which is great!
