Two pairs. One day. No exceptions.

Geppy Monday Momentum trades GBPJPY and GBPCHF, and only on Mondays. No martingale, no grid, no scaling — every position it opens carries a defined stop loss and take profit from the moment it fills. It's narrow by design: fewer trades, fewer places for something to go wrong.

Six weeks, nine trades, one hard lesson

66.7% win rate — and a single trade that nearly erased it all

The log below spans six weeks — 27 July to 8 September 2026, account 71046 on XSFintech-DEMO, the same account published on the Strategy Ledger. In that window, Geppy Monday opened nine positions: seven GBPJPY, two GBPCHF. Six won, three lost. That's a 66.7% win rate — a real number computed from this specific log, not an estimate.

Trading Kernel's own longer-run figures put the win rate consistently above 65% year over year since 2015, across both pairs. We can't hand you an exact multi-year percentage on this page — that number moves slightly depending on the exact date range pulled — but this six-week log lines up closely with that longer track record rather than contradicting it.

The single largest loss in this log — a stop-loss hit on 7 September — cost $13,742.45 and nearly wiped out six weeks of gains in one trade. Cumulative profit went from $13,743.89 to $1.44 overnight. We're not hiding that. It's in the table below exactly as it happened, and it's the clearest real-world argument for why lot sizing mode matters — see the risk note under the log.

⚠️

The 7 September loss was a stop-loss hit, not a failure of risk controls. The order closed exactly where its stop was set — it was simply a large stop distance (211 pips) at a fixed 10 lots, which is what produced a $13,742.45 loss on one trade. At fixed lot sizing, one wide stop can outweigh several prior wins. This is exactly why the EA offers a risk % per trade input as an alternative to constant lot size — with risk-based sizing, position size shrinks automatically as the stop distance widens, capping the dollar loss regardless of how far price moves against the trade. Starter Pack currently runs constant 10 lots for consistency across the account; you can switch to risk % sizing in your own copy's inputs.

Mechanics

What "Monday-only" actually means

Two pairs

GBPJPY and GBPCHF. Each is evaluated independently — no correlation logic ties the two together.

Single day

Entries are evaluated only on Monday sessions. If Monday doesn't produce a qualifying setup, the EA sits idle until next week.

Defined risk per trade

Every one of the nine logged trades carried an explicit stop loss and take profit set at entry — not a mental stop, not "monitor manually."

Constant lot or risk %

Choose fixed lot sizing (what the Starter Pack log above uses — 10 lots per trade) or risk a set percentage of account equity per trade instead, configurable in the inputs.

Broker symbol override

If your broker quotes these pairs under a different name — GBPCHFi, i_GBPCHF, GBPCHF.m, and similar — enter the exact symbol your broker uses in the inputs rather than assuming the default.

Configurable filling mode

Order filling policy (Fill or Kill, Immediate or Cancel, Return) is a setting, not hardcoded — set whichever your broker actually supports.

No martingale

Losing does not increase the next position size. Each trade is sized independently of the last result.

No grid

It does not average into a losing position with additional orders. One entry, one exit, per trade.

Intraday hold

Every logged trade closed within the same day it opened — durations ranged from 7.6 to 21.2 hours, not multi-day swing positions.

Setup

Getting it running

  1. Attach to a GBPJPY and/or GBPCHF chartIt only acts on whichever of these two pairs it's attached to — attach it to both charts to trade both, or just one if you'd rather run a single pair.
  2. Check your broker's exact symbol namesIf your broker quotes these pairs with a suffix or prefix — GBPCHFi, i_GBPCHF, GBPCHF.m, and similar — enter the exact symbol name in the inputs. The EA will not find the pair on its own if the name doesn't match exactly.
  3. Set your filling modeChoose the order filling policy your broker actually supports (Fill or Kill, Immediate or Cancel, or Return) in the inputs. The wrong setting here is one of the most common reasons an EA fails to open or close orders.
  4. Choose lot sizing modeConstant lot size (what the log on this page uses — 10 lots) or risk % per trade. If you're unsure, risk % scales the position to your account automatically as stop distance changes; constant lot does not.
  5. Use a low-spread brokerThis strategy is sensitive to spread. A broker with wide or inconsistent spreads on GBPJPY or GBPCHF may cause the EA to miss its intended entry, stop, or take-profit levels — check your broker's typical spread on these pairs before going live.
  6. Leave it runningIt evaluates conditions on Mondays and stays inactive the rest of the week. No supervision needed between sessions.
  7. Check in weeklyBecause it only acts once a week, there's no reason to watch it daily — review results after each Monday session closes.

Questions

Before you buy

Why does it only trade one day a week?

Because that's when the underlying setup it looks for occurs. Trading Kernel built this around Monday-specific price behaviour in GBPJPY and GBPCHF rather than forcing a pattern to trade every day. Fewer trades, but each one is evaluated against the same specific conditions.

Is nine trades enough to judge this by?

It's a real, computed number rather than an estimate — 66.7% win rate across nine trades over six weeks — but six weeks is still a short window relative to a strategy with history going back to 2015. Trading Kernel's longer-run figures put the win rate consistently above 65% year over year across that longer history, and this log is consistent with that rather than contradicting it. We'd still encourage you to judge it on the full table above, including the loss, rather than the headline number alone.

Does GBPCHF trade the same way as GBPJPY?

Yes — same Monday-only logic, same defined stop loss and take profit approach, applied independently. Two of the nine trades in the log above are GBPCHF, both winners (+$797.18 and +$264.12).

Does it use martingale or a grid?

No. Neither logged trade shows any averaging or scaled recovery — each is a single entry with its own stop loss and take profit, independent of the previous trade's outcome.

What lot size should I use?

You have two options in the inputs. Constant lot size is what the log on this page uses — fixed at 10 lots throughout, which is why the 7 September stop-loss hit cost $13,742.45 regardless of how the trade got there. Risk % per trade instead sizes each position automatically based on your account equity and the stop distance, so a wide stop results in a smaller position rather than the same fixed size every time. If you're not sure which to use, risk % is the more forgiving default for most accounts.

My broker uses a different symbol name — will this still work?

Yes, but you need to tell it what your broker calls the pair. Many brokers append or prepend characters to standard symbol names — GBPCHFi, i_GBPCHF, GBPCHF.m, and similar variations are common. Enter your broker's exact symbol name in the EA's inputs; it won't guess or auto-detect this for you.

What filling mode should I set?

Whichever your broker supports — Fill or Kill, Immediate or Cancel, or Return. This varies by broker, and setting the wrong one is a common reason an EA silently fails to open or close positions. Check your broker's documentation or test on a demo account first if you're unsure.

Does my broker's spread matter?

Yes, more than usual for this strategy. Wide or inconsistent spreads on GBPJPY or GBPCHF can cause the EA to miss the price levels it's trying to trade at — meaning it may not open or close orders exactly when it's supposed to. Confirm your broker offers reasonably tight, consistent spreads on these two pairs before running this live.

Can I run this alongside other EAs?

Yes. It only acts on GBPJPY on Mondays, so it won't conflict with strategies trading other pairs or other days.

Is this the same strategy as "Geppy Monday" in the Starter Pack?

Yes — Geppy Monday Momentum is the same strategy tracked on the Strategy Ledger and listed in the Starter Pack rotation. This page and that listing describe one product.

Who built this?

Trading Kernel developed Geppy Monday in-house — unlike some other products in our library, this is not a third-party strategy we've licensed to resell.
